Hop aboard our military grade inflatable fast boats for a guided excursion on the Pacific Ocean in Alaska’s Inside Passage!

At the Ketchikan Kayak Company, we’re only interested in experiences where you, the guests, can take control and do the piloting, paddling or peddling. There are many Ketchikan boat tours that allow you to just ride along, this isn’t one of them! Small groups of up to three inflatable fast boats follow a guide boat through the jagged coastline islands of Southeast Alaska. Your guide will introduce you to a bald eagles nest, and explore the protected waters of Clover Pass with you seeking out resident seals and sea lions, an immense array of inter tidal creatures such as sea stars and hopefully, everyone’s favorite, feeding humpback whales!

Clover Pass features calmer waters and often better weather than tours running in downtown Ketchikan so we love getting you out of town and away from the crowds. That said, you’re exploring the Tongass National Forest, it’s the second largest rainforest in the world after the Amazon, so we do get our fair share of rain. We have you covered though! All waterproof bibs, jackets, gloves and boots are provided for the ride.

After returning to our gazebo at the Salmon Falls Resort, enjoy smoked salmon, salmon dip, hummus and other vegan snack options along with complimentary Alaskan beers or a nice hot chocolate!

Details:

  • At least 1 guest must be 21+ to drive the boat. This is a self driven excursion on the water. Up to 4 guests may be in each vessel. If you are a couple you may be paired with another couple on the tour. Often times up to 2 guests will have time to drive the boat on a tour. 
  • Waterproof Bibs,  rain jackets, gloves and boots are provided. We recommend that you bring warm hat or scarf and wear clothing that would be appropriate for an outdoor hike through the forest with the weather on your given day. The best advice for gearing up for any excursion along your cruise is to bring layers. Quick dry clothing is always better than blue jeans!
