Kayak Fishing the Inside Passage-

As seen on Discovery Channel & National Geographic Channel

Ketchikan is a great place for kayak fishing, no doubt about it. In 2002 we started the first kayak fishing tour in Alaska, and although our daily guided kayak fishing tour is no longer available, we do still offer support for kayak anglers. Give us a call for information, advice, trip planning, or just to talk local fishing.

Rentals-

KKC offers kayak fishing rentals to independent travellers, and to cruise ship passengers if your ship is in town long enough to make a trip. Unfortunately the cruise ships are making their stops in town shorter and shorter.

If you have the time, and some kayak angling experience, you'll find this an amazing way to spend the day. Multi-day rentals are available, and sit on top kayaks can be delivered to B&B's and other waterfront accommodations.

The Details - We outfit with Ocean Kayak Trident 15 kayaks and Werner paddles. We provide you with kayak, PFD, paddle, and rod and reel if requested. There is a tackle shop right next to our shop on the dock where you can get some minimal tackle. Processing is available through the marina and arrangements will need to be made directly with them.

We do not provide transportation for kayak fishing rentals. Our facilities are located in Knudson Cove Marina, about 15 miles north of town. Taxi service is currently $35 each way from downtown, or (with tips) about $80 round trip. They have proven reliable and on time in our experiences.

Alaska Fishing License
All persons age 16 or over are required to have an Alaska fishing license. You can print your own license online in advance at the Alaska Fish and Game site. It is preferred to already have your license when you get here so you don't waste time with paperwork when you arrive. They are currently $20 for a one day license. You do not need a king salmon stamp unless you are specifically targeting king salmon and intend to keep them.
